If there is a mantra for happiness which is chanted daily (before or after meal), how would that sound? I have heard old people sitting in their balconies reading holy books and chanting slogans all day. There are sages or priests who chant verses or mantras while praying for others. But I also have heard a mantra, in a very special place…. in the corridors of hospitals, “God please help this one time “. The most chanted mantra.
I wanted to find a mantra or slogan, when uttered is going to open new miraculous gateways. A mantra which encompasses all the blessing on this planet. Blessing like joy, wealth, health, life, love and adventure. A mantra which takes us to levels much higher than human understandings. If there is a mantra,….
Firstly before telling what it is,
1. It must be used only for good, it must not be used to damage someone’s blessings
2. The mantra must be said with full Faith and even a mustard sized doubt will make it not come true.
3. Never use the mantra for selfish reasons
Now… let’s go to the mantra itself. I would like to tell it with a story in Robin Sharma’s style.
Once there lived a successful wealthy man who was not happy with all his accomplishments and decides to go on a pilgrimage. He set out to climb a small cliff in the outskirts of the city he lived. He woke up early in the morning and got ready to climb. He was so upset with his world that he did not take anything with him. He started towards the cliff.
The orange Sun was beginning to come out of his bedroom. The man walked in complete silence listening to his environment. He heard chirping of birds, mooing of cows, and in a far off road a dog was barking. The man suddenly remembered about his duties for the day. Though he decided to leave everything back, the thoughts haunted him. In a few hours he will be late to work, he will be missing an important meeting, his children will be late to school and his wife will be worried. He at last thought of his old parents who will be scared to death about him missing. His friends who will start a search party for him.
His nerves were loose and he began to ponder on all the possible outcomes if he is gone missing. Meanwhile the man passed a beautiful green field, a silvery river which was neither in a hurry nor lethargic, the river’s speed was just tight with the magical sound…. all this was a mute background for our traveller..
Now it was the bright morning, the day has begun, our traveller is still walking. His train of thoughts is now about his teenage mistakes. Wrong career choices, love failures and poor economy back then. He started thinking about his government and began to complain in his thoughts. He was mumbling how the government is unfair and all the taxes and on and on and on…. there is a mute background here too. Our traveller has crossed a village and another small woods which was filled with flowers of all hues, butterflies bright as morning lights and lot of other beautiful creatures of nature.
Fed up with his family and government our traveller’s thoughts now turned to God. He began complaining how God was unjust to him. By now he has reached half way through the cliff. He was now passing a group of deers without noticing.
At last our traveller reached the cliff top and looks from the top. He did not recognise any of the scene. He was so upset that he wasted all the time without enjoying anything. Now the sun was going back to bed and light was growing dark. He was so tired he could not walk all the way back, even if he did it would be nightfall and again he will miss all the fun. The man realised his mistake.
Yea.. readers, the traveller is our own self, the road travelled is our life and the cliff top is end of our life. We often forget how happy the present is rather complain about how bad the past was.
We forget our blessing at the moment and ponder on other blessing which are not for us. It’s true… we can’t take our spouse, kids, parents or friends wherever we go in life. Sometimes we need to leave them back. The mantra is obvious…..
“Live this moment”
